'Opsession IPA - O'Hara's | Carlow Brewing Company

‘Opsession IPA is a sessionable IPA, created to be light and refreshing whilst keeping all the flavour profile that we love and expect from an IPA.

The generous hop additions perfectly play off a crisp malt backbone delivering a flavoursome beer to satisfy any hop lovers taste buds.

ADDITIONAL TASTING NOTES

Colour/Appearance
Pale gold with a white head.

Aroma
At first there is a fruit and piney hops on the nose. The hop aroma
is intense and just as inviting as in a stronger IPA. There is also
a light malt background.

Aftertaste
A light crisp biscuit malt flavour provides a good base for US citrus
hops, which come through rather dry. The body is medium with a
hoppy charcter that last due to the dry – hopping and leads way to
refreshing citrus flavours

BREWER'S NOTE

Keeping a beer as interesting as possible while lowering
the alcohol content is a welcome challenge as a brewer.
Some subtle manipulations of the mash during the brew
can have large effects down the line to ensure there is a
good base malt profile for a modern IPA flavour profile
- without as much intensity. .

This year we celebrate 20 years of brewing and ‘Opsession is the latest in a
new wave of beers we are releasing as a result. We hope that such a wide
and diverse range of beers will show our fans that we want to continue to lead
the Irish craft beer revolution and push the envelope in terms of innovation.
We feel like we are only getting started and want to constantly evolve to deliver
the best tasting beers we possibly can.
