51st State IPA

Bursting with bold tropical flavours of grapefruit, passion fruit, apricot and peach, this unfiltered IPA, which takes its inspiration from the New England IPA style, is an attack on the senses. A carefully chosen hop blend provides an intense citrus aroma while adding a well-balanced yet mild bitterness. Malts are combined to deliver a smooth mouthfeel.

Colour/Appearance
Light golden colour with a slightly hazy body and a white head.

Aroma
The tropical fruit aroma is immediately present with notes of
grapefruit, orange, lemon, melon, apricot and peach.

Aftertaste
Intense tropical fruit flavours of passion fruit, orange, apricot and
peach with a slight grapefruit bitterness. The addition of wheat
malts and caramalt make for a smooth and creamy mouthfeel.

BREWER'S NOTE

We added lots of different hop varietals late in the boil to achieve the big
aroma and flavour that we desired from this beer. A further two stages
of dry hopping with Citra and Amarillo hops gives the beer its fruity aroma
and tropical flavour. Generous additions of wheat, crystal and caramalt
make this beer very smooth on the pallet.

IPA

Influenced by the characteristics of New England IPA’s, which
have been around state side for a few years now, it has only recently become
popular this side of the water. The style of beer is a complete contrast to
most American IPA’s as in the bitterness and dryness associated with IPA’s
is largely absent, instead replaced with a soft mouthfeel and strong fruity hop
aroma reminiscent of a tropical fruit smoothy.
